"For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God." (1 Corinthians 1:26-29)

What we do

Being a missionary generally means wearing many hats and getting to work on a whole variety of different types of projects and ministries, so answering the question "What do you do?" isn't always simple. We do, however, each have a main job title. Dale is currently the Director of the Centre for the Advancement of the Handicapped. Florence is the point person for hospitality services at the SIM mission station in Mahadaga. In addition to these two main roles, we participate in our local church, play handy-man at home and around town, parent, and generally share our lives with our Burkinabe neighbors and friends. Below is a brief overview of some of our various tasks and responsibilities.

Visit the CAH website for more information.Florence is a full-time front-door answerer. Aside from running several guest houses at the mission, Florence also manages the guards, station employees, and distribution of charitable aide. She also helps coordinate and mentor short-term missionaries who come to Mahadaga. Basically, Florence is the go-to person for everyone who comes to the mission and who is not already a missionary.
